Programme Objectives

The programme will produce graduates who can work as Assistant Architect, Architectural Technician, Draughtsman and Site Supervisor in public and private sectors. The graduates may also further their studies to degree course (LAM / RIBA Part 1) locally or abroad.

A graduate of this programme should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate semi-professional competencies such as the technical skill and appropriate methodologies by applying knowledge in architecture area.
  2. Assist in solving technical problems in architecture field creatively and able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Involve in activities by the community, professional organizations and make contributions towards society.
  4. Further studies at higher level and self-development as a professional.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1

English Proficiency, TITAS, Fundamental Design 1, Architectural Communication, Architectural History & Theory, Co Curriculum, Ethnic Relation, English For Academic Study, Fundamental Design 2, Basic Architectural Computing, Structure & Construction.

Year 2

Design 1, Theory Of Design, Architecture Competition, Environmental Physics, Professional Ethics, Design 2, Building Services, Construction Practice, English For Professional Communication.

Year 3

Design 3, Architectural Heritage Of Malaysia, Architectural Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development, Islamic Institution, Design 4, Architectural Management & Practice, Tasawwur Islam/ Self Development.

Career Prospects

Graduates of the programme are eligible to work as Assistant Architect, Architectural Technician, Draughtsman and Site Supervisor in public and private sectors, or further their studies to degree and professional courses to qualify as an architect locally and abroad.
